Trish Regan

Carmel High School, 2006 – 10


Trish Regan swam for Carmel High School from 2006-2010 and was a major part of four state championship teams during that time.  She won four individual state championships and was part of five state championship relay teams. As a freshman, she finaled in the 200-yard freestyle and was a member of two runner-up relays.  At the 2008 championships, Trish won her first individual title, winning the 200-yard freestyle, and was runner-up in the 100 freestyle. She was also a member of the championship 200 freestyle relay and runner-up 400 freestyle relay.   

At the 2009 championships, Trish won another individual title, this time in the 200-yard individual medley.  She also swam the anchor legs of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay, which established a new state record and the 200-yard freestyle relay which established a new National Record.  As a senior, Trish won both of her individual events, again winning the 200-yard individual medley and winning the 100-yard butterfly. She also swam the butterfly leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay and anchored the winning 400-yard freestyle relay.  Her senior year she was also named “Swimmer of the Year” and won the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award as chosen by the Indiana High School Swim Coaches Association.

Trish went on to swim at the University of Florida for two years where she was named to the All-SEC Freshman team, before transferring to finish her swimming career at Purdue University.  She also competed at the 2008 and 2012 US Olympic Trials. She has continued in the sport as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Tulane University.
