Tricia Tyner

Carmel High School, 1987 – 91


Tyner__TriciaTricia Tyner swam for Carmel High School, winning the 200-yard individual medley in 1989-90, and the 100-yard breaststroke for three straight years in 1988-89, 1989-90, and 1990-91. As a senior, Tricia set the state record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.61. Together with four relay state championships, Tricia earned a total of eight state titles. Of special note, in 1988 the Carmel High School 200 yard medley relay set a national record, with a time of 1:45.73.  Tricia is an elementary physical education teacher who teaches swimming at a school in Nederland, Colorado. She also coaches at the Boulder Country Club. An interesting fact about Tricia is that her brother-in-law is Rupert, from the “Survivor” reality show.
