Gary Mann High School, 1936 – 40
Ted Nordquist was a diver for Gary Mann High School. In 1938, Ted finished second in the diving event. The next year, Ted won the state championship in diving and set the record for most points. In 1940, he finished third in the diving event. He died tragically in 1947, after returning to Purdue University from service in World War II, when a bleacher collapsed during a basketball game.
