Scott Kubly

Zionsville High School, 1989 – Present


Coach Scott Kubly has been the head coach of Zionsville High School boys and girls swimming and diving for 30 years. During his tenure, Zionsville swimmers have won twelve individual state titles and three relay state titles. Three Zionsville swimmers have also earned the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award. Of his champions, two broke individual state records and the 2017 200-yard Medley Relay set a National Record. His swimmers have also finished as runners-up in 9 individual events and 6 relays. The Zionsville girls team finished as IHSAA runners-up in 2012 and the boys teams have finished as runners-up in 2015, 2016 & 2017. Coach Kubly has received multiple IHSSCA Sectional Coach of the Year Awards, is the two-time recipient of the IHSSCA Coach of the Year Award and is a three-time recipient of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Coach of the Year Award. He credits these honors to Coach Eric Meyer, Head Coach at Zionsville Swim Club who coaches many of the Zionsville High School swimmers throughout the year. Coach Kubly is also a Mathematics teacher and Chair of the Mathematics Department at Zionsville High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Purdue University and a Masters in Education Administration. He is an avid Purdue Boilermaker fan as a 30-year football and men’s basketball season ticket holder. He is also a passionate Indianapolis 500 fan having attended the race 36 times. Coach Kubly is a native Hoosier, a graduate of Twin Lakes High School in Monticello, Indiana. His family members are his mother, Sharon Kubly and sister, Joelle Kubly
