Robert “Bob” Morrison III

Jay County High School, 1983 – 85


Bob is Jay County High Schools only boys state swimming champion. At the 1985 state championships, Bob won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, after finishing as runner-up in both events his junior year. He set the state record in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 45.95. His senior year he was also honored with the 1985 Herman F Keller Mental Attitude Award. Bob went on to attend Harvard University and lettered in swimming. He graduated from Armstrong University in Savannah, Georgia and then attended Medical College of Georgia. He was an Army Ranger and a certified general and vascular surgeon. Bob passed away and the Dr. Bob Morrison Memorial Swim Fund was established in his honor to provide support to Jay County swimming organizations. He passed away in 2007. His mother Barbara and Jim Jones live in Texas. He has one son Ryan Morrison.
