Olivia (Kabacinski) Banks

Chesterton High School, 2009 – 12


Olivia Kabacinski Banks swam for Chesterton High School from 2008-12. As a freestyle specialist, Olivia claimed state championships in the 50-yard freestyle (2012), 100-yard freestyle (2012), and 200-yard freestyle (2010). Olivia consistently placed in the top four at the state meet each year in different freestyle events, capturing the silver in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events in her junior year (2011). She was Chesterton’s Most Valuable Swimmer all four years and also the Duneland Conference MVP in 2012. Olivia went on to swim at the University of Iowa from 2012-2016. There she broke the school records in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle events and the 100-yard breaststroke. She was an integral part of Hawkeye relays setting records in all five relays during her career in Iowa City. She was the Hawkeyes MVP in 2014. Olivia also gained academic recognition as a CSCAA Scholar All-American and an Academic All-Big Ten Honoree. Olivia is a Revenue Operations Contracts Specialist for Salesforce. She resides in Indianapolis with her husband Zechariah Banks, another Indiana swimmer, and her daughter Naomi.
