Mike Miles

North Central High School, 1975 – 76


Mike is a two-time individual state champion. As a junior Mike finished third in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. At the 1976 championships, his senior year, Mike won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, both in-state record times. Those records each stood for seven years. That year he also won the AAU Junior National title in the 100 freestyle, setting a new national record. Mike went on to swim at the University of Houston, where he qualified for the NCAA championships each year in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events. Mike continues to be involved in swimming as the “Voice of the Natatorium”. He is the announcer for the IHSAA state swimming championships as well as NCAA championships, USA swimming championships, US Masters Swimming championships, US Paralympic swimming trials, and USA Diving Olympic Trials. Mike Currently resides in Fishers, Indiana with his wife Deborah. They have three daughters, Katie, Meghan and Jennifer. Mike has one grandson Jackson that was born on his birthday. Mike is a Vice President at Gregory & Appel Insurance.
