Kylee (Wells) Retrum

Western High School, 1997 – 2000


She is the only Western High School Girls Swimming and Diving State Champ in the school’s history. Kylee was a state champion diver competing from 1997-2000. Kylee improved her finish at the state championships each year. Her freshman year, she finished seventh. As a sophomore, she placed third on the 1-meter springboard. Her junior year she finished as the IHSAA diving runner-up. At the 2000 championships, her senior year, she won the diving title. Kylee continued diving at the University of Tennessee where the 10- meter platform event was her specialty. She was the 2001 Southeastern Conference Freshman Diver of the Year. At the 2003 Southeastern Conference Championships, she won the platform title. Twice she finaled on 10-meter platform at the NCAA championships, earning AllAmerican honors. She is a domestic engineer. Kylee currently lives in Fishers, Indiana and is married to John Retrum, also being inducted into the 2019 Hall of Fame class. They have three children: Ryland, Eleanor and Clara Mae.
