Karl Kuehne – Indiana High School Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame

South Bend Central High School, 1933 – 35

He was a two-time individual state swimming champion for South Bend Central High School during the 1930’s. His sophomore year he placed third in the 220-yard freestyle, helping his team to the 1933 runner-up finish. At the 1934 state championships, he won his first individual title, touching first in the 200-yard freestyle in state record time, while leading his school to their third team championship. As a senior, he again won the 200-yard freestyle, lowering his own state record, and led his team to a fourth team championship. Karl has passed.
