Kait Flederbach

Westfield High School, 2007 – 10


Kait Flederbach was a three-time champion swimmer for Westfield High School from 2006-2010. Kait was a freestyle specialist, competing in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle events during her high school career. She won the 100-yard freestyle at the 2009 and 2010 championships and captured the 50-yard freestyle title in 2010, her senior year. Kait went on to swim at the University of Arizona where she earned seven All-American accolades as part of Wildcat relays. She had the fastest split on Arizona’s national runner-up 200-yard freestyle relay at the 2011 NCAA championships. She was also part of an American record-setting 400-yard freestyle relay at the 2013 NCAA championships. For her senior year, she transferred back to her home state to finish her swimming career at Indiana University. As part of Hoosier relays, she won Big Ten titles in the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays where she anchored the 400-yard medley relay to a Big Ten record. She was also part of IU’s 400-meter mixed freestyle relay which set the World Record in 2013. Kait also had a successful club swimming career as she swam both the 50 and 100-meter freestyle events at the 2012 US Olympic Trials placing sixth in the final of the 50-meter freestyle. She was a USA Swimming Athlete representative in 2013. Kait was also an accomplished student earning Dean’s List and CSCAA Scholar All-American honors. Kait is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Education and is an Elementary Education Teacher. She is engaged to Tyler Cline and they reside in Beacon, New York.
