Chris Boneham

Kokomo Haworth High School, 1981 – 83


Chris was an integral part of their 1981 team runner-up finish and the 1982 championship team. At the 1981 championships, Chris and his teammates won the 200-yard medley relay in a state record time. He also finished third in the 50-yard freestyle. At the 1982 championships, Chris won his first individual title in the 50-yard freestyle. His relay team again claimed the 200-yard medley relay title in state record time. He also finished third in the 100-yard butterfly. As a senior, Chris defended his title in the 50-yard freestyle and set a new state record in the preliminaries with a 20.96. He also finished as runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly. Chris went on to swim at Indiana University where he swam for the legendary James “Doc” Counsilman. He was a member of the 1984 and 1985 Big Ten Championship teams. He also was a two-time All-American based on his performances at the 1986 NCAA championships in the 50-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle relay. Chris is now the Executive Director, Managed Markets at Aralez Pharmaceuticals. He resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, Lisa, and four children, Cassidy, Connor, Clayton and Chandler
