Angela (Todt) Landrowski-Smith

Elkhart Central High School, 1985 – 89


She was instrumental in her team’s two runner-up finishes at the 1985 and 1989 championships. As a freshman, she won her first title in the 200-yard individual medley. She was runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke that year as well. Her sophomore year, she claimed her second title winning the 500-yard freestyle. She also swam on the runner-up 400-yard freestyle relay. As a junior, she was runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle and then repeated as runner-up in the same event as a senior. She was also runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, and Angela was honored with the 1988 Mental Attitude Award. Angela went on to attend the University of Iowa where she was a Big Ten championship finalist and earned Academic All-American honors. She is now a dentist and resides in Elgin, Illinois with her husband Kellen Smith. Her daughter Drew, swims at the University of Chicago and daughter Anya, who is a competitive rower.
