Leslie Place was a six-time individual state champion swimmer for Fort Wayne Snider High School from 1991-95.  She won the 200-yard individual medley state title three straight years at the 1992, 1993 and 1994 championships.  She also won the 100-yard butterfly at the 1991, 1992 and 1994 championships. At the 1992 championships, she set the state championship record in the 100-yard butterfly with a 55.75, a standard that stood for five years.

Leslie continued her swimming career at the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the 1999 NCAA Championship team and earned All-American status. She currently lives in New Haven, Indiana with her husband Joe, and works as a medical malpractice insurance underwriter.
