Hammond High School, 1933 – 36
Walter Meyn was a five-time swimming champion for Hammond High School. He won the 100-yard backstroke event three straight years, from 1933-34, 1934-35, and 1935-36, establishing new state records each year. He was also part of two championship relays, the 150-yard medley relay in 1934-35 and the 180-yard medley relay in 1935-36. He also contributed to Hammond’s first state championship team in 1935-36.
