Homestead High School, 1997 – 99
Rebecca was a two-time individual state swimming champion for Homestead High School where she swam till 1999. As a sophomore, Rebecca placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle. At the 1998 championships, Rebecca was runner-up in both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events. As a senior Rebecca reached the top of the podium in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, setting a new state record in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:48.39. Rebecca continued her swimming career at the University of Georgia, where she was part of two NCAA championship teams, She earned individual All-American honors in the 1650-yard freestyle and relay honors with her 800-yard freestyle relay teammates. Rebecca graduated from the University of Georgia cum laude and then attended Emory University School of Medicine where she earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and was presented with the Johnnie Walker Award for
