Peter Jameson

North Central High School, 2004 – 06


Peter Jameson was a two-time state champion swimmer for North Central High School. As a junior, Jameson was runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle and captured the bronze in the 200-yard freestyle while also swimming on North Central’s state champion 400-yard freestyle relay as North Central won the 2005 team title. As a senior, Jameson led the Panthers to another team title while winning four golds. He won the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle in a state record time (1:37.11).  He also anchored the winning 400-yard freestyle relay and swam butterfly on the champion 200-yard medley relay that set a new state record. Jameson continued his swimming career at the University of Texas, Austin where the Longhorns were NCAA runners-up in 2008 and 2009 and won the NCAA team title in 2010. Jameson is a three-time All-American and was part of the Longhorn’s 400-yard freestyle relay that broke the American Record at the 2009 NCAA championships. He also competed in individual events, scoring for the Longhorns in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. As a club swimmer, he was the 2005 junior national champion in the 100-meter freestyle, also helping his team to a gold medal in the 200-meter freestyle relay. Jameson competed at the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 100 and 200-meter freestyle events. Jameson now lives in Birmingham, AL with his wife Lauren and son Bennett and daughter Josephine. He is a Broker and Consultant at Veritas Medical Real Estate Advisors. They are expecting their third child anytime now. Peter’s parents are Polly and John Jameson.
