Homestead High School Coach, 1996 – Present
Jill Eakright has been the Homestead High School Diving coach since 1996. During her tenure she has coached three state champion divers (David Piercy, Kevin Frebel, Jackie Brenn), winning a total of five state championships. She has also coached three runners-up, one bronze medalist, and two fourth-place finishers. Her divers contributed to two boys’ team runner-up titles in 2004 and 2006 for the Spartans and one state runner-up title for the girls’ team in 2011. Her divers have gone on to compete at some of the top college diving programs including Indiana University, University of Kentucky, and The Ohio State University, Ball State, and University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). Eakright was a three-sport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, and tennis. She got involved with swimming and diving during her summers at Avalon Summer Sports Club. Along with her high school coaching, she coaches with the Indiana International School of Diving. She has had two divers qualify for Junior World Championships and two for Junior Pan American Games. At the most recent USA Diving Nationals, her divers earned seven medals. Eakright continues to work for Northwest Allen County Schools as an Elementary Physical Education teacher. She and her husband Craig reside in Fort Wayne. They have two daughters, Shae and Paige.
