2007 Contributor Award / Official, 1951 – 1999
Harry Inskeep was an official for 48 years serving at 50 sectionals, seven state meets as assistant starter, five state meets as referee starter, 22 state meets as stroke and turn judge and one state meet as the diving referee. He worked 274 IHSAA tournaments, officiated state meets in five different decades, and worked in 79 of Indiana’s 92 counties. Harry was born in 1932, attended Sheridan High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue, a master’s degree from Butler and an advanced studies degree in Chemistry from Indiana University. He was involved in teaching and administration for 51 years. Harry officiated baseball, basketball, football, track, swimming, and cross-country at the high school and college levels. He taught driver’s education and evaluated bus drivers and substitute teachers. Harry was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash in 1995. Harry passed away in 2007. We then created a scholarship in his name.
