South Bend Riley High School, 1954 – 58
Dennis Floden swam for South Bend Riley High School aiding his team to three consecutive boys state championship titles. He contributed to those winning teams by taking the 50-yard freestyle in record time at the 1958 state championships, and winning the 100-yard backstroke three consecutive years at the 1956, 1957, and 1958 championships. He set the state records in the 100-yard backstroke in 1957 and then broke his record in 1958. In addition, he was a part of South Bend Riley’s state championship 200-yard freestyle relay team in 1957.
