Dan Schultz graduated Bedford North Lawrence in 1995. He was coached by Dean Voyles. Dan is the son of Stephen and Virginia Schultz. Dan earned state championship titles in the 100 back in 1994 and 1995, setting state records each time.  He was the first Indiana High School swimmer to break 50 seconds in that event.  He earned All-American status six times. Dan was a 1995 recipient of the Herman F. Keller Mental Attitude Award.  His collegiate swimming career took him to Stanford University, where he was a member of the 1998 National Championship Team.  Schultz was also a three-time All-American and three-time runner-up (100 back, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay) at the 1999 NCAA Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium, where he capped his career with four lifetime best performances.  He graduated from Stanford earning a psychology degree with an emphasis in psychobiology.  After graduation, Dan remained in California and coached for the Santa Clara Swim Club for 3.5 years, coaching with swimming legend, Dick Jochums.  Dan now coaches at the Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club.  He is married to Morgan, a native of Birmingham, AL.
