North Central High School, 2003 – 07
Michael Christy swam for North Central High School in Indianapolis from 2003-07. During his career, he won four individual state championship titles and was part of three championship relays. He won the 200-yard individual medley in 2004 and 2006 and the 100-yard backstroke in 2006 and 2007. Michael was part of the record-setting 200-yard medley relay team that won the state championship in 2006 and played a key role on the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay teams in 2005 and 2006. He was honored as the 2007 Swimmer of the Year, as chosen by the Indiana High School Swim Coaches Association. Michael went on to swim at the University of Tennessee. He earned All-American status twice as a member of the Volunteers 800 freestyle relay. His times in the 200 and 400-yard individual medley still rank in the top 3 all time at Tennessee.
