Jeffersonville High School, 2000 – 04
Ben Hesen swam at Jeffersonville High School. He won state titles in the 100-yard backstroke three straight years and added a title in the 100-yard butterfly his senior year. His senior year he set the state record in the 100-yard backstroke that stood for four years. Ben went on to swim for Indiana University where won an NCAA title in the 100-yard backstroke his senior year. During his time at Indiana, he earned 14 All American honors, was named Big Ten Conference Swimmer of the Year and was Indiana’s team most valuable swimmer his junior and senior years. He still holds the IU school record in the 100 yard-backstroke.
