Carmel High School, 2001 – 2005
Taylor Baughman competed for Carmel High School from 2001-05. She claimed four individual state titles, two each in 50 and 100-yard freestyle events her junior and senior years. She was also part of four relay championship teams and four state championship teams during her tenure at Carmel. Taylor was recognized as Indianapolis Suburban Athlete of the Year in 2005 and was also spotlighted in Sports Illustrated. She went on to swim at the University of Arizona and was a member of the 2008 NCAA championship team. She was part of three relays that won NCAA titles and set NCAA records that year.
