Nadra (Simmons) Woerner

Lafayette Jefferson High School, 1980 – 84


Nadra_SimmonsNadra swam for Lafayette Jefferson High School where she was a 4-time High School All-American.  She won the State title in 1983, her junior year, in the 100 back, breaking the state record with a time of 58.67.  She also had 3-second place finishes and 1 third place.  She was honored with the Most Valuable Trophy from her team each of her four years. Throughout her tenure at Jeff, she held 6 school records in the 100 breast, 50 free, 100 free, 200 IM, 200 medley relay and the 100 back.  As of 2014, her record in the 100 back, 57.62, set in 1983, still stands. She qualified and swam in the 1984 Olympic Trials before heading off to swim at Clemson University. While there, she was a 7-time All-American, won an ACC title in the 100 back in1986, and held the Clemson school record in 1987 for the 100 Back.   Nadra and her husband, Tim, have two children, Zachery and Jaden, and live in Zionsville, Indiana. She has been in sales in the hospitality industry since graduation from college.
