Ben Davis High School, 1977 – 81
Linda Grondziak swam for Ben Davis High School from 1977-81. She won three consecutive state titles in the 200-yard freestyle beginning her freshman year when she broke the state record. She lowered the mark her sophomore year and continued her dominance in the event her junior year. Linda also won the 500-yard freestyle her sophomore and junior years setting a record her sophomore year. She contributed to Ben Davis’ three state championship teams, for a total of 8 titles.
Linda earned an athletic scholarship to Miami University (Ohio), where she became the Mid-American Conference (MAC) champion in the 400-yard individual medley and the 1650-yard freestyle and was the team’s captain of Miami’s MAC championship team. Linda graduated with a degree in Mass Communications. She is currently a business owner in property management, and an ASCA Level II assistant swim coach at Swim Indy.
