Valparaiso High School, 1989 – 93
Kirsten Johnson swam for Valparaiso High School from 1989 to 1993. Kirsten was a two-time individual champion and two-time relay champion and helped her Valparaiso team to state runner-up finishes in 1989 and 1990. Her individual titles came in the 100-yard butterfly in 1990 and in the 50-yard freestyle in 1991. She and her Valparaiso teammates won titles in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 1989 and a record setting 200-yard freestyle relay in 1991. During her career Kirsten picked up four runner-up medals and never placed lower than fourth. As a senior she was the IHSAA Mental Attitude winner. Kirsten is married to Bryan Chou and is blessed to be a stay at home mom to Grace, Faith, Hope, and Eli. They are currently residing in El Dorado, Arkansas.
