Josh Mikesell swam for Crawfordsville High School from 1984-88.  He was a five-time individual champion, winning the 200-yard individual medley and setting the state record at the 1988 state championships.  Josh established a four-year reign on the 100-yard backstroke and is one of three swimmers in IHSAA history to win the same event all four years. He established new state records each of the last three, finishing with a 50.97. His senior year, he was awarded the IHSAA Herman F. Keller Mental Attitude Award.

Josh went on to swim at Stanford University where he was an All American, part of four Pac-10 championship teams and an NCAA championship team his senior year.  He also earned a master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
