Heidi Hendricks

Logansport High School, 1984 – 88


Heidi Hendricks was the first swimmer in the history of the Indiana state high school swimming and diving championships to win eight individual state championships.  She swam for Logansport High School from 1984-88. Her freshman year she won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke, setting a state record in the breaststroke event. Her sophomore year, she repeated as champion in the 50-yard freestyle, setting a state record, and also claimed the 100-yard freestyle title.  Her junior a senior years she won the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke events, setting a state record in both events her senior year.  In addition, Heidi was the recipient of the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award in 1987-88.  Heidi went on to swim at Arizona State University where she was a conference champion and All-American.
