Brad Toothaker

South Bend Riley High School, 1983 – 87


Toothaker__BradBrad Toothaker swam for South Bend Riley High School, winning the 200-yard individual medley in 1986 and 1987, plus the 100-yard butterfly event in 1985, 1986, and 1987. He set state marks in 1986 and 1987 and became the first male under 50 seconds with a time of 49.62. As a senior, Brad received the IHSAA Herman F. Keller Mental Attitude Award in 1987. Brad was a five-time high school All-American, and he went on to become a four-year letterman at UCLA. He participated in the 1988 Olympic Trials and the NCAA Championships in 1988 and 1989.  Brad works in commercial real estate brokerage and management. He currently lives in Edwardsburg, Michigan with his wife Katie and two children. However, Brad spent two years in Guam, traveling around the Pacific Rim for work, and surfed in Bali as well as many other locations. He also dove in Palau and Okinawa.
