Allison (Bock) Johnson

Lafayette Jefferson High School, 1987 – 91


Allison Bock, a freestyle specialist, swam for Lafayette Jefferson High School from 1987-91. She won the 200-yard freestyle in 1987 and held a three-year reign over the 50-yard freestyle starting in 1988. She also dominated the 100-yard freestyle all four years from 1987-90. Over the course of her career, she set state records in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle events. Additionally, she was part of two championship relays, for a total of 10 state titles. During her senior year, Allison received the 1990 IHSAA Mental Attitude Award. Allison competed at both national and international events. She was the 1988 US Open Champion in the 50-meter freestyle. In 1991 she was a Pan American bronze medalist in 50 Meter free. She was an Olympic Trials Finalist in 1988 and 1992. Allison continued her swimming career at Auburn University and the University of Southern California and earned 21 All-American honors and was part of a 200 medley relay that won an NCAA championship while at Auburn. Allison is married to her husband, Scott, and has two children. She lives in the Austin, Texas area.
